Quote: Quotes are based on all belongings being properly boxed, bagged and ready for loading at the time arranged. We reserve the right to refuse to take any load that we feel is unsuitable or that has not been accurately specified before collection as this may have a knock on effect on other clients.
All quotes are calculated based on the information that you supply. Please ensure that you provide a reasonably accurate description of the number and size of items to be moved and list them in the quotation/booking form
Included in the quote: Your quote covers one trip from A to B (unless agreed otherwise), and includes the man (men) helping you to load and unload (provided the van is lawfully parked and can be left unattended). Jobs running over the minimum hire time of 2 or 3 hours will be charged in half hourly increments after the second hour.
Overloaded boxes: Items should be spread evenly between boxes to avoid overloading. A good rule of thumb is that if you are unable to comfortably lift a box, nor can Best Van and Man.
Parking: We are experienced in minimising the risk of incurring a parking ticket. However, please be advised that if a fine were to be issued, the cost is added on to the total amount payable. Arranging adequate parking is the responsibility of the customer. If a penalty charge is incurred anyway, we request immediate payment to the driver by the customer. We will always do everything we can (within the law!) to prevent this from happening.
Insurance: Best Van and Man is comprehensively insured to carry out hire and reward removal work with the insured vehicle. However, this cover does not normally extend to goods in transit so customers may wish to arrange their own insurance where needed. Any damage must be immediately reported and verified with the driver, who will contact the main office. You must notify Best Van and Man in writing of any visible loss, damage or failure to produce goods at the time of delivery. We accept no responsibility for loss or damage to property after a job is complete, payment is received and our driver has left the premises.
Payment: Payment is taken in cash on completion( with a deposit paid in advance by BACS). Best Van and Man Ltd does not accept personal cheques but may accept a company cheque if agreed to in advance. Any outstanding payment is to be made directly to the driver by cash on completion of the job. We accept Paypal online. Any overtime is payable to the driver by cash. Invoicing is by prior arrangement only and subject to stipulated terms.
Disclaimer: Please note: Whilst every care is always taken, Best Van and Man Ltd cannot be held liable for any accidental loss or damage to furniture, property or electrical goods that is incurred while handling customer goods.
Single items: Due to Health and Safety regulations and insurance, any single item must not weight more than 30kg PER MAN lifting it. If you are looking to move a very heavy item, please ensure that you have requested enough people to carry it. We reserve the right to refuse transit if items are potentially dangerous or harmful to our staff or the customer.
Packed Items: Delicate and fragile items must be adequately packed or otherwise protected by the customer. We only carry blankets for general protection while the goods are in transit. Where we have packed and unpacked your goods (which includes goods packed in boxes, cases, cartons, luggage, wardrobes, drawers, or other type of container) we will not be liable for:
a) the loss of these goods or any item or items comprising part of the these goods;
b) damage to any item or items as customers packing their own goods should ensure that all items were adequately packed and packaged to withstand normal handling.
Cancellation: If you need to cancel your move but do not inform us at least 2 (two) hours before our due arrival time, you will be liable to a call out fee of the value of the deposit.
Non Payment: Any outstanding invoice that remains unpaid after 14 days will incur interest that is calculated daily and backdated to the job date at 3% above the current stated Santander interest rate. After 30 days, the invoice will incur a further £35 administration surcharge and be passed on to a 3rd party collection agency. We will inform you 5 days before this occurs, and after this we will have no further responsibility or involvement in the debt.
